Coaching with Catalyst Catholic Athletics

Thank you for your interest in coaching! Our athletics programs rely on caring adults who want to help young people grow in skill, sportsmanship, and faith. Coaching is more than running drills — it’s a chance to mentor youth and strengthen our Catholic community through teamwork and example.

Coaching Requirements

All coaches are appointed by their parish and must meet these minimum requirements:

• Age: Head Coaches must be at least 18 years old. Assistant Coaches must be at least 17 years old. Head coaches must always be present if the assistant coach is 17.

• Gender: Coaches may work with teams of the opposite gender only if another adult of the same gender as the participants is present at all practices, games, and in locker room areas before and after play.

• Training:

  • Safe Parish online training

  • Background Check

  • Coaches Orientation

  • Concussion Awareness training

Your Parish AD will provide links and instructions for completing these steps.

How It Works

Catalyst Catholic organizes leagues across the New Albany Deanery, while each parish manages its own teams and coaches. If you’d like to coach, contact your Parish Athletic Director to learn what opportunities are available and how to get started.
