Catalyst Catholic is a unique effort of sixteen individual parishes working towards one goal: bringing the young Church to Christ, one soul at a time. The Catholic parishes in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties in Indiana pool their resources and their efforts to make ministry a priority to youth and families. We are a non-profit office of youth ministry in the New Albany Deanery and are committed to serving the needs of the parishes and youth in these communities.
This important work is not just the responsibility of a few. It is the goal of many dedicated staff members, volunteers, parents, and community members. Is there a young person in your life who could benefit from a thriving Catholic community in the New Albany Deanery? If so, join us today and become a Catalyst.
Share your gifts.
Through your financial generosity, Catalyst Catholic is able to provide many services to the parishes in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties. Whether supporting our general fund, making a wish-list donation, or investing in our future through an endowment, your tax-deductible gift is sure to make a difference in the lives of young people today and for years to come.
Donations to the General Fund provide much-needed, day-to-day support for our ministry in the New Albany Deanery. In addition, we are pleased to have two endowments that ensure the longevity of our programs. The Spirit of Our Catholic Faith Jan Loi Memorial Endowment Fund directly offsets costs to families by providing scholarships and resources for our retreat programs, including senior and Confirmation retreats. The CJ Smith Endowment provides ongoing support for the annual college internship program. Whichever way you choose to become a Catalyst, know that your financial support is appreciated!
Share your time and talents.
Every youth in our care needs a small army of praying, dedicated adult leaders in their corner. As a Catalyst volunteer, you will have a front-row view of the amazing faith lives of youth in our deanery. You will have the opportunity to invite them deeper into the life of the Church.
Through retreat talks and witnesses, small group leadership, coaching an athletic team, or relational ministry, adults 18+ can help disciple young people in a way that is sure to lead hearts to Christ. Likewise, there are many basic volunteer roles available, such as chaperoning middle school events, providing meals, and assisting with concessions and ticketing at deanery athletic events. Contact us today and a Catalyst Catholic staff member will be happy to connect you with needs in your parish or in the New Albany Deanery.
** All volunteers must participate in the Safe Parish program and submit to a background check prior to volunteering.

It's no secret! The New Albany Deanery has been blessed with over fifty years of collaborative ministry. Beginning with its inception as a branch of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) in 1965, these efforts have continued to offer generations of young people opportunities to know, love, and serve the Lord. Catalyst Catholic is proud to continue this tradition of parishes working together to build the kingdom through a variety of ministry efforts.
