Middle School Monthly: April & May

The final Middle School Monthly events with Catalyst Catholic are just around the corner! Register now for the Youth Mass with Taco Tumble & Ice Cream Rumble at St. Anthony’s and the Scavenger Hunt at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Events are Sunday, April 28 and Friday, May 10, respectively. Events are open to youth in grades 6th-8th of the New Albany Deanery, regardless of your school. Cost is $10. CJ Smith Internship Applications Open

High school seniors & college students, you don’t want to miss this! Catalyst Catholic is now hiring for our CJ Smith Internship. Interns have the opportunity to earn $5,000 toward their higher education degree by ministering in the New Albany Deanery, from May–August 2024 or August 2024–May 2025. Open to all who are enrolled in an accredited institute for the Fall 2024. More information can be found online at catalystcatholic.org/cjsmith.

 

Totus Tuus VBS (Register by June 2)
Register now for a week of faith & fun at Totus Tuus VBS! This vacation bible school program is open to all children of the New Albany Deanery from pre-K4 through 6th grade. The week-long program is hosted at Holy Family in New Albany from June 10–14. Sign up by June 2 at catalystcatholic.org. Also, see the website for volunteer opportunities available to older youth and adults. Help is needed during the event, and to provide meals for the missionary team.

Three Great Dates with Steve & Jenni Angrisano (May 11 / Register by May 5)

Join Steve & Jenni Angrisano for the final installment of Three Great Dates, an event for married couples of the New Albany Deanery! For over 25 years, Steve has travelled the world as a singer, songwriter, and keynote speaker. Through all that time, Jenni has been a constant support, while still pursing dreams of her own. How do they balance their personal callings while prioritizing their primary vocation of marriage? That’s what they will share on Saturday, May 11 at St. John Paul II in Sellersburg! Deanery Mission Trip 2024
Catalyst Catholic and Catholic Heart Workcamp are teaming up once again to provide everything you need for an unforgettable mission trip experience. Registration is now live at www.catalystcatholic.org/mission for a limited number of spots remaining for youth currently in grades 8-12. Full details can also be found on the website for the trip that will be held July 7-12, 2024. Please note, that once we have reached capacity for this year’s trip, a waiting list will be formed. Don't miss out on this opportunity to become the hands and feet of Christ as the New Albany Deanery serves our neighbors to the west in Huntingburg, Indiana.

Service Opportunities

Looking for a few service hours? Volunteer at an upcoming deanery event! Opportunities are currently available for middle and high school youth at spring athletic events and summer Vacation Bible School. See catalystcatholic.org/servicehours for information.

GLOW 8th Grade Graduation Dance (May 24 / Register by May 19)

Grab your glow sticks and face-paint, wear your best neon and white clothes, and join us for a blacklight evening of glowing and grooving! Open to 8th-grade students from around the New Albany Deanery, the annual GLOW 8th Grade Graduation Dance is on Friday, May 24 from 6-9pm. The evening includes dinner and dancing at the Knights of Columbus Hall (809 E. Main St. / New Albany, IN). Whether you attend a deanery Catholic school or parish, all deanery 8th graders are welcome! Tickets ($20) must be purchased in advance at www.catalystcatholic.org/glow. The deadline to register is May 19, 2024.

Media kits are the place to download any and all promotional materials for Catalyst Catholic events. Some tips you may find handy:

  • For images: right click and select “Save image as…” to save to your computer. These are best used in your bulletin or on social media, though they can be printed out as well.

  • For PDF files: Click the button to open the file in a new tab. If you are using Google Chrome (which we recommend) there is a icon in the top right with an arrow point down. After clicking this, chose a place to save your file. PDF files are best for printing and hanging on a bulletin board, or wherever you advertise your events. Catalyst is happy to provide files printed in color at each month’s networking meeting.

  • For text: If you choose not to use our images in your bulletin, you may copy and paste the text for each event. This will often not include every detail families need, so please be sure to keep the website link and/or contact information for Catalyst so they can contact us.
