🎤 The simple truth is, every couple will face conflict. Whether it's a minor issue, like who last took out the garbage, or a deeper disagreement rooted in core beliefs and concerns, disagreements are inevitable. The key question is: when conflict arises, will you fight fair? In this talk, Andy and Rachel will provide practical tips and strategies for handling conflicts, both big and small, to help you and your spouse navigate these challenges together.
🗣️ Andy and Rachel Miller are the parents of three boys in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. They live on the south side of Indianapolis, where they enjoy camping and caring for what their neighbors affectionately call their "urban homestead," complete with seven chickens and several gardens.
The Millers believe marriage is a unique call to witness Christ's love in the world by serving others. In response to this calling, they have become involved with PreCana Retreats for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis as regular presenters. They are also involved in several ministries at their home parish, St. Barnabas, as well as the Gabriel Project and the Creation Care Commission within the Archdiocese.

🎤 After 20 years of marriage, Dr. Amy Hallal Henderson became a widow at the age of 46. Before her husband Keith died of ALS in August 2020, he wrote a letter to his beloved children instructing them to “keep your eyes on what’s important… Heaven.” That is the ultimate goal of married life. Dr. Henderson shares 10 lessons she is fairly certain would help any couple – whether dating, engaged or married – as they make this journey together. This date night will be full of her pearls of wisdom – some that she, regretfully, only learned after the “till death do us part.”
🗣️ Dr. Amy Hallal Henderson is a family physician, mother, and widow who has been a dedicated member of Holy Family Parish in New Albany since kindergarten. Dr. Henderson considers her roles as a mother, wife, and caregiver to her husband before his death among her greatest blessings. She looks forward to what she calls Life 2.0—continued growth in her Catholic faith, friends still to meet and adventures not yet imagined.
A trained natural family planning medical consultant from the Pope Paul VI Institute, Dr. Henderson has been a featured speaker at deanery events, addressing NFP, its challenges, and its health benefits. She is currently writing a book on grief from both Catholic and medical perspectives and feels a strong calling to support others in their grief journeys.
*Moved from original location at St. Augustine due to delays in their parish renovations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Three Great Dates reserved for Catholic couples only?
Although this event is marketed as a “date night” the content is beneficial to all who are married, engaged, or dating. If your spouse cannot attend, just select one ticket in the registration process.
Similarly, your spouse does not need to be Catholic! Everything will be presented from a Catholic perspective, but we believe these are presentations that will help each and every relationship grow and develop.
Do I need to attend all three nights?
No, you do not need to attend all three. The topics are connected but not dependent on each other.
Is a reservation required? Is there a deadline?
Yes, reservations are required in order to ensure plenty of seating and food. The deadline to register is six days before each event. Walk-ups are not accepted.
Is childcare available?
Yes! We are happy to provide childcare by reservation. Please indicate the number of children attending when purchasing your tickets. A kid-friendly meal will be provided. A free-will offering will be taken to help offset the cost of food and childcare workers. Children who are nursing may remain with their parents, if desired.
What does the reservation price include?
The ticket price includes dinner for one and a non-alcoholic drink as well as a top-notch Catholic speaker. Couples should purchase two tickets in the registration process.
Are there any discounts available?
Discounts are available for those who purchase tickets for all three nights in advance. Bundle pricing is $50 each, which is a $10 savings. For couples, this means you get three date nights including childcare for $100!
Finances are tight for many these days, but please do not let that prevent you from attending. A limited amount of assistance is available. Please contact the Catalyst office for more information.
What is the schedule for each evening?
Each evening will include Mass with the parish, a catered dinner, a presentation by the speaker, followed by Q&A over dessert. Because the evening begins with the parish Vigil Mass, the start times vary depending on the location, so please double check the time when making plans!
