Tuesdays in June • Incoming 6th-8th Grade youth

Looking for something meaningful, fun, and faith-filled
for your middle schooler this summer?

For over 20 years, parishes across the New Albany Deanery
have gathered for Summer Daze—
a weekly Tuesday experience in June for incoming 6th–8th grade youth.

Each week, youth step out to serve their community,
grow in their faith, and build friendships with other Catholic teens
from Clark, Floyd, and Harrison Counties—all while having a lot of fun along the way.

Last summer, a record 225 youth participated across four weeks!

Parish Information

Each parish has their own daily schedule – see the tabs below and the weekly parent email from Catalyst Catholic for more details.

What Will We Do?

Each day consists of four key parts: prayer & discussion, service, lunch, and social activities.

Each day starts at your parish – see drop off time & location above

Service Sites

🕘 9:00 AM

Youth will serve at partner organizations across Southern Indiana and Metro Louisville, such as:

  • Blue River Services

  • Ronald McDonald House of Kentuckiana

  • Lighthouse Maternity Center

  • The Brave Way Home

  • Franciscan Kitchen

  • Genesis House

  • …and more

📩 Parish-specific assignments will be emailed to parents each Monday. Add mail@flocknote.com to your contacts to prevent them from going to spam.

Social Activities

🕐 1:00 PM

Each week, all parishes come together for fun and community:

  • June 2: Xtrenasium (Clarksville, IN)

  • June 9: Corydon Cinemas (Corydon, IN)

  • June 16: Strike & Spare Fun Center (Clarksville, IN)

  • June 23: Malibu Jack’s (Louisville, KY)

Prayer & Discussion

Dive deeper into our theme of loving God and our neighbor as we reflect on how to serve with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Through Scripture, Church teaching, and the witness of the saints, youth will explore what it means to live out their faith in everyday life.

Parents will receive a weekly discussion guide by email to help continue these conversations at home.

⛪ We’re also excited to kick off the summer together with a Youth Mass on the morning of June 2.

What to Bring & Wear

Please come prepared each week:

  • 👕 Summer Daze t-shirt (provided on the first day of participation)

  • 👟 Closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or slides)

  • 💧 Water bottle

  • 🥪 Sack lunch

Additional notes:

  • Some service sites require long pants. You’ll be notified in advance if needed.

  • Many sites are outdoors—sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are encouraged.

  • Groups will pause for prayer and enjoy a picnic-style lunch at their service site or a nearby park.

Volunteer with us!

Summer Daze is a deanery-wide effort, and we rely on amazing volunteers to make it possible!

  • Each parish provides 1 adult for every 5 youth

  • Volunteers assist with transportation, serve alongside youth, and help guide conversation and engagement throughout the day

🗓 Volunteer Orientation:
Our staff has put together a video to prepare volunteers for the great task of being a Summer Daze leader! Your parish leader will share it with you before the first day of service.

Requirements:

You can sign up while registering your child
or contact your parish youth minister.
Thank you for supporting this important role!
