ELIGIBILITY:

  • Softball is open to young girls in grades 5 through 8.

  • Athletes must attend a Catholic school in the New Albany Deanery or be registered member of a Catholic parish in the New Albany Deanery.

  • Athletes are not permitted to play for their public school team and the deanery/parish team at the same time.

REGISTRATION:

  • Softball registration is accepted online via Final Forms (orange button below).

  • The only document that cannot be accepted electronically is the physical form. Each athlete is required to have a current IHSAA physical form, signed by a licensed physician, on file with the Catalyst Catholic Office.

  • The registration fee is $80 per athlete, due via credit card (on Final Forms) or by sending a check made payable to Catalyst Catholic (101 St. Anthony Dr. / Mt. St. Francis, IN 47146)

  • Athletes will be provided with a uniform shirt, socks, belt, and pants.  Each athlete will need to provide their own bat, cleats, and glove.

SCHEDULES:

  • All practices are held at Providence High School ( 707 Providence Way / Clarksville, IN 47129).

  • Practices will typically be held 2-3 times a week once the weather warms and depending on the age of the athletes in the division.

  • Games will begin the week of March 27 and run through May 26, 2023.

  • Parents are responsible for transporting their athletes to practices and scheduled games.

  • Coaches reserve the right to limit an athlete’s participation based on the risk of injury, behavioral issues, or lack of attendance at practice.

Catalyst Catholic is blessed with an outstanding team of volunteer coaches. All adult volunteers are required to complete standard volunteer requirements. This year’s coaching staff includes:

 

Roger Laslie
Head Coach

Roger is a parishioner of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. He attended elementary school at St. Paul Catholic School and graduated high school from Silver Creek High School in 1997. Roger is married and the father of two children. He has coached both recreational/travel softball for 8+ years and is currently the Assistant Coach for Fusion Premier 09.

Ronnie Flowers
Assistant Coach
Ronnie is a parish member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ronnie is married and the father of two. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 2001 and was a baseball player. Ronnie was the Jeffersonville Middle School assistant coach last season and currently coaches for the Redbird travel softball team. Ronnie has also volunteered as a coach with Jeffersonville GRC and New Albany Little League for several years.

 
 

POLICIES:
Catalyst Catholic Athletics is a ministry of the New Albany Deanery, providing athletic opportunities for elementary, middle school, and high school youth who attend a Catholic parish or school within Clark, Floyd, or Harrison counties in Indiana. Through athletic ministry, Catalyst Catholic is dedicated to giving athletes a positive environment where they can develop fundamental skills of the game while growing with their Catholic community. Our Athletic Ministry program is overseen by athletic directors at participating parishes who govern and advise based on the following policies:
