As the finale of Middle School Monthly, this overnight retreat gives students a chance to encounter Christ in a deeper way.
Through engaging talks, small group discussions, guided prayer, and plenty of late-night fun, students grow in their faith, build friendships, and make memories that last.
A Collaboration with NET Ministries
This retreat is a collaborative experience led by Catalyst Catholic leaders alongside a team of young adult missionaries from NET Ministries, a nationally recognized Catholic organization dedicated to evangelizing youth.
NET missionaries bring joyful energy, authenticity, and a unique ability to connect with youth in ways that are both relatable and deeply rooted in the Catholic faith. Throughout the retreat, they will partner closely with the Catalyst team to ensure a safe, welcoming, and spiritually rich experience for every student.
Why an Overnight Retreat?
There’s time for fun, laughter, and late-night memories—but also space for real conversations, meaningful prayer, and moments that don’t usually happen at a regular event. Being together overnight helps friendships grow and makes it easier to open your heart to God, especially in the middle school years when belonging matters so deeply.
By the end of the retreat, our hope is that you leave feeling more connected to God, more confident in who you are, and surrounded by a community that has your back.

-
This retreat is open to all middle school students in grades 6–8, whether they’ve been attending Middle School Monthly events or are brand new to Catalyst Catholic. Students do not need to have prior retreat experience to participate.
Created & Claimed is especially well-suited for middle schoolers who are beginning to ask big questions about identity, belonging, and faith—or who simply need space to be reminded that they are known and loved by God. Whether a student is deeply engaged in their faith, still figuring things out, or somewhere in between, this retreat is designed to meet them where they are and invite them into a deeper relationship with Christ.
-
Yes! This retreat is especially well-suited for students who have never been on a retreat before. The overnight format, supportive small groups, and engaging missionary team help create a welcoming and encouraging environment for first-time retreatants.
-
Pretty much! This retreat builds on what many students have loved in past years when the event was known as The Jam (and earlier as the Middle School Jamboree). While the overall overnight format will feel familiar, this year we are intentionally naming the experience for what it truly is: a retreat.
The biggest difference is a stronger focus on prayer, reflection, and faith formation, led by a trained retreat team from NET Ministries. The fun, community, and energy students expect are still there—but with a clearer purpose and a deeper invitation to encounter Christ.
