Catalyst Catholic exists to bring the young Church to Christ by serving the youth, families, and parishes of the New Albany Deanery in Southern Indiana. For more than 60 years, Catalyst has partnered with the sixteen Catholic parishes in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties to strengthen youth ministry and create opportunities for young people to encounter Jesus Christ.

About the Role
Catalyst Catholic is seeking an Associate Director of Evangelization who is passionate about forming disciples and equipping others for ministry. Serving as a resource and partner to youth ministers, pastors, parish staff, and volunteers throughout the New Albany Deanery, this person will strengthen local youth ministry through relationship-building, leadership development, and collaborative initiatives.
While retreats and deanery-wide events are an important part of the role, the heart of this position is helping parishes grow in their ability to accompany young people and lead them to Christ. The ideal candidate is a relational leader who enjoys encouraging others, building partnerships, and helping ministries thrive.
Primary Responsibilities
Parish Leadership & Collaboration
Provide ongoing support, consultation, and encouragement to youth ministers, pastors, parish staff, and volunteers throughout the New Albany Deanery.
Build relationships with parish leaders through regular communication, networking, mentoring, and support.
Equip and encourage parish ministry leaders and volunteers through formation, consultation, and leadership development.
Facilitate collaboration among sixteen deanery parishes through shared initiatives, networking opportunities, and a culture of shared mission.
Share resources, best practices, and formation opportunities that strengthen local youth ministry efforts.
Event & Retreat Leadership
Plan, coordinate, and evaluate deanery-wide retreats, conferences, service opportunities, and special events for middle and high school youth.
Develop themes, schedules, and participant experiences that foster authentic encounters with Christ.
Build and lead collaborative teams of parish staff and volunteers who bring ministry initiatives to life.
Oversee event planning, logistics, budgeting, registration, hospitality, and participant experience.
Create systems and resources that promote consistency, excellence, and continued growth across Catalyst Catholic programs.

Possesses a servant leader's heart and a passion for evangelization and forming others.
Builds trust easily and enjoys developing relationships with clergy, parish staff, volunteers, parents, and youth.
Communicates confidently through conversation, presentations, prayer, witness talks, and faith discussions.
Enjoys collaborating with others while also taking initiative and working independently.
Is organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple ministry priorities.
Has a desire to continually grow spiritually, personally, and professionally.
Qualifications
Experience serving in Catholic parish youth ministry, campus ministry, faith formation, or a related ministry setting is strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree or relevant youth ministry certifications are preferred.
Experience planning and coordinating retreats, conferences, or ministry events.
Experience speaking to groups and facilitating faith formation in large- and small-group settings.
Experience recruiting, mentoring, and leading volunteers.
Proficiency with common office productivity software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Ability to learn and effectively use ministry management, registration, and communication platforms (such as Flocknote, Neartail, and Stripe).
Bonus qualifications:
Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish.
Experience with marketing, communications, and graphic design.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and Safe Parish training.
Work Environment
Full-time, salaried, exempt position with full benefits.
Primary office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility to accommodate ministry responsibilities.
Evening and weekend ministry responsibilities are a regular part of the position (approximately three events per month).
Occasional overnight travel is required for retreats, conferences, and ministry events (approximately 10 nights per year).
Training, support, and professional development opportunities are provided.
Regular presence throughout the New Albany Deanery is expected; reliable transportation is required.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for event setup, activities, and ministry needs.
