ELIGIBILITY:

  • Open to boys in grades 9 through 12.

  • Athletes must be registered members of a Catholic parish in the New Albany Deanery.

  • Athletes are not permitted to play for their school team and the deanery/parish team at the same time.

REGISTRATION:

  • For registration contact your local parish youth minister. Registration details and fees will vary by parish. If your parish does not offer high school basketball, please contact raymond@catalystcatholic.org for assistance.

  • Athletes will be provided with a jersey or t-shirt. Each athlete will need to provide his own shorts, gym shoes, and socks.

COACHING STAFF:
Catalyst Catholic is blessed with an outstanding team of volunteer coaches. For coaching opportunities, please contact your parish youth minister. All adult volunteers are required to complete standard volunteer requirements.

SCHEDULES:

  • The most up-to-date game schedule is linked below. Practice schedules are provided by your parish athletic director or coach. Any updates to the schedule will be shared with athletes through their coach.

  • Games will take place from January to March on Sunday afternoons. Games will be played at the various parishes in the deanery.

  • All practices are held at the discretion of the parish and/or coach. Practices will typically last between 1 to 1.5 hours and will be held 1-2 times a week, depending on the parish and/or coach.

  • Parents are responsible for transporting their athletes to practices and scheduled games.

  • Coaches reserve the right to limit an athlete’s participation based on the risk of injury, behavioral issues, or lack of attendance at practice.

POLICIES:
Catalyst Catholic Athletics is a ministry of the New Albany Deanery, providing athletic opportunities for elementary, middle school, and high school youth who attend a Catholic parish or school within Clark, Floyd, or Harrison counties in Indiana. Through athletic ministry, Catalyst Catholic is dedicated to giving athletes a positive environment where they can develop fundamental skills of the game while growing with their Catholic community. Our Athletic Ministry program is overseen by athletic directors at participating parishes who govern and advise based on the following policies:
