Safe & Sacred
All volunteers (age 18+) who are working with youth on behalf of the deanery/parishes of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis , are required to participate a child protection program. The training program, known as Safe & Sacred:
Includes information on child physical abuse, neglect, and emotional abuse, as well as sexual abuse.
Is completely conducted online and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. (Please be sure and complete all three parts of the program.)
Includes processing of a background check and acceptance of the Archdioceses of Indianapolis Code of Conduct.
Will provide participants with a quarterly continuing education update via email.
Concussion training program
All volunteer athletic coaches (age 18+) who are working with youth on behalf of the deanery/parishes in Clark, Floyd or Harrison county are required to participate in a concussion protocol training course offered by NFHS Learning Center. The training program:
Highlights the impact of sports-related concussion on athletes
Teaches participants how to recognize a suspected concussion and steps to help players return to play safely after a concussion
Includes Indiana’s requirements for concussion management
Is available in Spanish
Furthering education for coaches
The NFHS Learning Center offers over 70 online training courses for volunteer coaches of all age levels and sports. Any volunteer athletic coach (age 18+) working with youth on behalf of Catalyst Catholic may participate in one online course per year, at no-cost to them.
